Front Firing & Ported, The FF12 Models Bring Power, Style and Earthquake Sound to Home Theaters and AV Systems
CES '07, LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2007 — Earthquake Sound Corp, the premier manufacturer of high-performance audio solutions for use in home music and audio/video systems, aftermarket and OEM automotive systems, and custom built-in audio systems, introduces a new Powered Subwoofer at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show.
The new FF12 Subwoofer features a 400-watt built-in amplifier and several advantages over other company's subwoofers. Most notable feature is that it is front firing, front-ported and very easy to install.
The FF12 employs deep-bumped back motor structure that allows extended excursion with increased bass response. The patented TCT© (Turbine Cooled Transducer) Technology increases efficiency and eliminates distortion. A 24dB/octave low-pass filter delivers an accurate crossing that prevents it from being easily localized, increasing placement flexibility. Also provided are variable crossovers, phase controls, rear-panel line and speaker level inputs.
Equally exciting is the new look it represents in Earthquake subs — a clean, contemporary style that is more consistent with the look and feel of the company's other products, visually more compatible with modern interiors. The new style enclosure offers a smaller footprint, but slightly higher; this produces a larger enclosure performance. The front side allows the user to access the volume control knob without messing up the phase and the crossover settings. These latter controls were placed on the backside to limit the users from tampering with the setting. The FF12 is available in black ash veneer finish.
The FF12 Powered Subwoofer features a large 12-inch deep bumped woofer, TCT© technology, a powerful 400-watt amplifier in a ported enclosure, and a frequency response (+/-3dB) of 20Hz-125Hz. The volume control is conveniently located in front of the cabinet but hidden behind the grille so the subwoofer remains flush to the eye.
Of course, it delivers Earthquake Sound, a renown trait of Earthquake Sound's speaker systems that reproduces music and movie sound with exceptional accuracy, as artists intend with a brilliant neutral tonal body that remains the same for all Earthquake speakers.
Earthquake's new Powered Subwoofers will be available in the first half of 2007 from authorized Earthquake dealers, carrying an MSRP of $699 . They can be seen with Earthquake Sound's other fantastic products in Booth# 20532, South Hall, Las Vegas Convention Center , during the show.
Now on its second generation, the FF12 subwoofers still score high marks with home theatre enthusiasts as they work fantastically in front firing applications.
With a small footprint, a variety of applications and an incredible output; the FF12 is an“easy-to-use” subwoofer for consumers. With a 12 inch driver and 400 Watts of amplifications, this subwoofer is superb value for money.
